[Spoken English] What to say if you are pulled over?

Imagine I am pulled over for running red light, and hope the officer can forgive me and let go without trouble, what should I say ? Can I say "I am sorry, can you do me a favor" something like that?

P.S : Do you have a word meaning the officer "forgive you and let you go without trouble"

    THX~~

You can tell him/her that you're sorry, it's is your 1st offense, you don't know the area that well and that maybe they can let you go with a warning?

Remember to be polite and... well.. pray.

One thing it is unwise to say if you have done something illegal or stupid is "Can you do me a favour" - the police are not in the business of doing wrongdoers favours [usually]
