    hello teachers,
    which is correct?

Apple's interest in water began in 1960 with the (acquisition/takeover) of 20% of Orange.
After the (acquisition/takeover) of Pear in 1999 the new company became a major part of Apple Group....

I would say (acquisition) then (takeover)....
    Please do correct me.thanks.

Takeover (to me) suggests taking complete control more strongly than acquisition. Therefore I have chosen acquisition for the company they partly took control of, and takeover for the company they bought entirely. (This is based on my interpretation of the text; correct me if I'm wrong.)

Also, I'm not sure if there should be an article at the end or not. I've added one.

    I am not a teacher.
