    Question to goose (make active)

"His intention goosed further development of these techniques."

For a reason I would like to use goose in the above sentence. However, I have several worries. First, what's the level of formality of this word? Second, is this above use correct? I have rather come across the use "goose sb to do sth".

    Thanks,
    Nyggus

    GOOSE (verb)
The verb GOOSE has 3 senses (in this order):

    1. pinch in the buttocks
    2. prod into action
    3. give a spurt of fuel to

Familiarity information: GOOSE used as a verb is uncommon.

I've never heard it. But if it's big in Poland, go for it!
However, it might go completely over most people's heads.
