    I saw him drive through a red light.

    Please explain to me this emboldened parts.

    To drive through a red light (a stop light) is to drive through a junction without waiting for the traffic lights/signals to change to green (the go colour).

    Does this make the phrase clearer?

    A junction is where seperate roads meet.

    For instance, a cross junction is two roads which pass through one another; a T junction is one road which is perpendicular to another - there are many more examples.
