    What Do We Mean By A Non Lenear Approach?

    I am working on aresearch paper- Suprasegmental Features:Stress- The aim of my research paper is to find the stress pattern in a dialect. I was reading reading some articles and i come out with two different theories: a linear and non linear approuch. What is the difference between the two??

    Anything that is linear involves a series of events or thoughts in which one follows another one directly. So it is a logical progression from A to B to C...

    A non-linear approach is related to lateral thinking in which the process is open to any possibility and allows for leaps of thought and theory. Information is gathered and allowed to generate new information.
