    Hi,

    could you please tell me which is correct:

    On the basis of the contracts concluded between A and B the parties agreed that party A will/would arrange transport of shipments ...

    I would go for "party A will arrange ". This is a contractual obligation and not a conditional one.

    Let me just be sure - is the sentence from a contract, or from a letter discussing a contract?

    If it is the former, then I stand by "will". If the latter, than yes, "would" is probably the word you need.

    It is a letter to one of the parties concerning outstanding payments for the transport.

    Right! In that case, would is the one you use.
