Do we say
"today my town has a hurricane"?
Is it possible to say "there's a hurricane in my town" or "we were hit by a hurricane"?
You could say anything from "Shit, we're getting a hurricane", to "I can't hear. We are having a hurricane at the moment." to "You should have seen the hurricane we just had. It's settling down now".
"Man, that was some hurricane we had this morning. The whole place is a junkyard".
So, yes any combination of "we are having a h.; we have been hit by a h.; we had a h. etc. will do".
