    less

    Hi there,
Do the following sentences mean the same?
    1. Teenagers should eat less snacks.
    2. Teenagers should eat snacks less often.

Are they also mean the same?
    1. Teenagers should fewer snacks
    2. Teenagers should less snacks.

    Thanks
    pete

No they don't mean the same. The first means that they should eat fewer snacks, the second means that they should eat snacks less frequently but not necessarily fewer snacks.

Do these also mean the same?
    1. Teenagers should fewer snacks No verb.
    2. Teenagers should less snacks. No verb.

Yes, you should use fewer for countable things, and less for uncountable stuff. So, technically 2. is wrong.
But probably most people say "less" for both.
