"This book shows you how the differences between well-performed and bad-performed analyses. In doing so, we will examine..."

I've come across both "In doing so..." and "In so doing..." Is any of them better, worse, preferred, or is it just a matter of personal preferences? (The former wins in google scholar, but the difference is not that big.)

Best,

In that case it should read, 'In doing so it(the book) examines...';-)

Got your point, thanks. But what about the difference between "in doing so" and "in so doing"?
