    Cool lame principle

Talking on accurate watches, there is this sentence: "Bulova's Accutron watch works by the lame principle"

Does anyone know what's this lame? If wrong written because of some print error, which word would be suiteble to make sense in this sentence?

    Thanks

    Re: lame principle

Maybe it's a typo for 'same'. Is the preceding sentence about tuning forks?
