    subject Sports

    Hi!

I've got a question concerning the subject Sports. Is it "Sports are on Monday" or "Sports is on Monday"? I've read both versions and now I'm wondering if both are correct and whether one is more common than the other one.

    Re: subject Sports

    Welcome to the forums.

I would generally expect to use the plural verb. The exception would be if "Sports" was understood to be a contraction of something like "Sports Day", when a singular verb can be used.
