    expect vs anticipate

    Please let me know: what is difference between an expectation and an anticipation?

    Expect = to believe with confidence that an event will happen in the future

    My expectation is that John and Mary will get married.

    Anticipate = to think or be fairly sure that something will happen

    My anticipation is that they will be married in June next year.
