    My head is spinning.

    Hi, everyone.

    1. I'm dizzy. (I feel dizzy.)
    2. I'm light-headed. (I feel light-headed.)
    3. My head is spinning.
    4. My head is swimming.
    5. I feel giddy.

I guess that #1, #2 and #3 sound natural, but the other two doesn't, does it? Do they sound obsolete?

They ALL sound OK, including 4 and 5.

I read so much today that my head is swimming.

I just got paid, so I feel giddy.

... although the "giddy" expression does feel a bit more old-fashioned, and effeminate. A prize fighter might take a punch in the head, or he might have just won the championship; in neither case would he confess to feeling "giddy," whereas any of the other four versions might be used.

To me they all sound fine. "Giddy" is still much used here.
