    separately

    Hi there,
Any other way to say this sentence?

    1. After the dinner, Flora and I went back home separately.

    Thanks
    peter

There has to be a better way of saying it, because we don't know if they both went to the same home, or to different homes (unless you can tell from the context).

    1. After the dinner, Flora and I took our own ways back to our home. (they live together)
    2. After the dinner, Flora and I went back to our separate homes. (they live apart)
    3. After the dinner, Flora and I each went back to our own homes. (they live apart)
    4. After the dinner, Flora and I went back to our home separately. (they live together).

There are, of course, many other ways of saying this.

It's ambiguous without context, don't you think?
It depends on where the sentence is going to go.

Be advised. No native speaker would actually voice such clunky prose. The English language affords more creative expressiveness:

After the dinner, Flora and I said our goodbyes and I went home.

After the dinner, Flora and I said goodnight, and I headed home.
    and even more:
After the dinner, Flora and I parted, and I returned to my lonely flat.

Nice sentences, David, but Peter was asking for alternative ways of expressing his sentence. None of your examples do that.
    Here it is again.
    1. After the dinner, Flora and I went back home separately.
You've left poor Flora stranded outside the restaurant.

Yes, that at least captures the meaning. ("each of us" would do)

Peter:Any other way to say this sentence?

Yes, if you actually mean they each went their own way, since, from the construction of the sentence, you might have intended that alternative meaning; and I gave examples.

Raymott: Peter was asking for alternative ways of expressing his sentence
Which you provided. I merely pointed out that such clunky sentences would not be uttered by any self-respecting native speaker; and offered some sentences for Peter's benefit, and as an example of better colloquial expressiveness for yourself. Perhaps you could rephrase your sentences for Peter.
