    Use - 'from' and 'of'

    Which is correct?

    The patient is dying from cancer.

    or

    The patient is dying of cancer.

    Both are fine to be combined with die.

    I hear both, but somehow "of" sounds more correct to me.....Actually, dictionary.com gives "of" as an example.
