    Hi there,

    I wonder if ''cow'' refers to a male or female animal, please. My doubt is due to a cartoon I watched the other day in which the main character was a cow (it had breasts). It had a strong and heavy masculine voice and a man's name.

    A cow is female, a bull is male. A heifer is a young cow. A bullock is a young bull. A steer and an ox are both terms for castrated males.

    What cartoonists do is of course quite unrelated to reality
