    Question (I bid 10) G's =?

Mr A: We got the real dirt on Homer Simpson,
and the bidding starts at 10 G's.

    Mr B: I bid 10 G's.

    Mr C: Ten-five G's.
The quoted dialogue is the snippet from American cartoon - The Simpsons.

Could someone please tell me what "G" stands for? I guess it is similar to 'K' which means thousand in English. Thanks!

Yes, it does mean thousand, but for a different reason.
G stands for "grand". It's American.
    10 grand = $10,000
