    1. Victory is in sight

    2. Victory
    in Iraq is in sight, but much will need to be done by the next administration, Republican presidential candidate John McCain told ...

    3. We scent victory. But there is still a long way to go.

    4. Victory was nowhere in sight.I am under the impression that there are the definite articles missing.Thank you for your efforts.

    The articles are fine; if it's in sight, it's still not 100% certain or concrete.
