    question pattern

    I would like to ask regarding this sentence construction in interrogative form wether it is corret or not, " do you know who will our next president be for this next election?".

    In indirect questions the pattern changes a little:

    Do you know who our next president will be for this next election?

    The underlined part is the indirect question.

    This is better, but still doesn't make sense. If we're talking about the US presidential elections you have two candidates for the election. You don't have a president for an election.
    "Do you know who the candidates are for this next election?"
    "Do you know who the candidates for this next election are?"
    "Do you know who the candidates will be for this next election?"
    "Do you know who the candidates for this next election will be?"
    "Do you know who will be elected President in this election?"
    "Do you which candidate will be elected President in this election?"

    Of coures, Ray, I paid no attention at al to the wording, only to the pattern.
