    How can we call

    I need compound nouns that describes:

    1. a person who sells tickets and his job
    2. a person who is in charge of such a tower
    3. a person who gets coals out of the ground
    4. a person who inspects schools or factories
    5. a man/woman who looks after his/ her family and doesn't work outside the house
    6. a person whose job os keeping a record of financial affairs of a business
    7. a machine for cutting grass on the lawn
    8. a basket made of paper
    9. a songbird having black feathers
    10. a room where we can both sleep and live in
    11. a raiway carriage where meals are served
    12. a party given to celebrate moving into a new house
    13. the legal right to print, pulish, sell, broadcast, perform, film, or record an original work
    14. a very heavy and sudden fall of rain
    15. the amount of money obtained by a business within a certain period of time

    I know - but that is what is involved in learning. Give it a try. Do what you can and give us your answers. Some are fairly obvious [what, after all, can you call a bird with black feathers?, and who is the person who keeps a house, cleaning and cooking?].

    A rolling stone gathers no moss = Stones that move do not have moss growing on them, so metaphorically someone who is always on the move does not gather possessions.
