What is the difference between retinue and entourage? And while it is saliently vexing me as I type, what is the correct form for words as words. To illustrate, in the first question, is the best form italics, retinue, or quotation marks "retinue"?

    Re: nuances

My dictionary uses italics when printing a sentence using a certain word in question.

    Entourage is used more commonly.

Today, I think is it used more often to describe the "hanger-oners" surrounding pop stars. The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, always travels with an entourage.
