    Rows and row

In the name of the Merciful Allah,
Hi, I've just read something I can't understand in the following quote: For example, imagine you are traveling home on the bus, and there is no one else on the bus except the driver. Then the bus stops and someone else gets on. Even though there are rows and row of empty seats, this person sits down next to you. How do you feel? My problem is with the words in orange, is there a typing fault or what?
    Thanks ahead.

Hi, I think this is just a mistake and should read: "rows and rows".
Another way of saying this is "row upon row".
