    catching people´s attention

Is there an expression in English to refer to things people do, intentionally or unintentionally, that end up making other people laugh, maybe because it was pathetic or foolishly funny? I´m looking for an expression that refers to the action, and not to people. But I don´t think I made myself clear...

"clowning around", "acting the clown". That's intentional.

What if the situation is : I was walking back home, carrying bags full of groceries, when I tripped over a stone and fell down, and hurt my knees while apples rolled down the street. Everybody saw it and laughed, or at least held back. I was so embarrassed.. I really ________________.
