Yes, but it has also other meaning. In the one movie two guys were talking about women in the bar. Then, they see two beautiful girls talking. One man is married and the other isn't. That one who isn't asked the other, if he bring them (two girl) over there. The man who is married said no, and when the other ask why he respond: I just trying to keep my head above the water.
What in this situation that means?
Keep Head above Water:
1. to keep from drowning when swimming or floating.
Ex:I was so tired I could hardly keep my head above water.
2. Fig. to manage to survive, especially financially.
Ex: We have so little money that we can hardly keep our heads above water. It's hard to keep your head above water on this much money.
