    Hi Punchinello

Are you quite sure that you have the last word correct?

    Re: busted?

    Hi Punchinello

It would help if I knew whether you read the words or overheard them - and in what context they occurred.

"Busted" is a slang word anyway, but it could have been mis-heard, if overheard, whereas it wouldn't easily have been mis-read. Hence my query.

    Best regards
    NT

    Re: busted?

Meaning depends on context. What is the context in this case?

    Re: busted?

Without context, it might mean the speaker is suffering from too much alcohol.

    Re: busted?

I was thinking it might mean that the person had no money.

I'm flat broke busted - I have no money at all.
    I'm a little busted - I'm a bit short of cash.

    That's a possibility.

    Re: busted?

I heard it in a comady. The guy says that after he literally gets "busted" doing stuff. Could it be the reason why he says that?

The word "busted" is sometimes used to mean that a person was discovered doing something he didn't want people to know he was doing.
