    knowing you

"Knowing you as I know now, I'd say you will not accept his proposal."

    Hi,
Is it correct in English to start a sentence with a verb+ING?
    Thanks.

    Knowing you as I do...

    It is quite possible:

Going to the market, I slipped on a banana skin.
Coming from the sea, fish are an excellent source of omega3.
Reading the headlines, I wanted to jump off a bridge.

'Knowing you as I do' means 'Knowing you as well as I do'.
