    Uncountable noun

Hi, as far as I know, uncountable noun can not have 'a' in front of it, I looked up the word 'demeanour' from dictionary , and learned it is an uncountable noun; and I was given the following sentence example , 'she maintained a professional demeanour'; now, my question is why they allow 'a demeanour' in this example.

Thanks in advance for the reply

You are wrong in believing that an uncountable noun cannot have an article.
    Here's another example:
"I felt a happiness I've never felt before".
Just because a noun in uncountable doesn't mean you can't refer to one manifestation of it.
