    what is the difference??

    Hi gyus!

    I need help with these sentences. I donīt understand the difference.

    The ceiling was of stone.
    But the floor was stone, unlike the floor of the tower.

    He looked down at his cravat, which was of fine watered silk.
    His cream shirt was silk.

    They are different in sentence construction, but mean the same:

    The ceiling was (constructed or made) of stone.
    But the floor was (constructed or made of) stone, unlike the floor of the tower.

    He looked down at his cravat, which was (made of the material) of fine watered silk.
    His cream shirt was (made of) silk (material.)
