    Smile meaning

The opportunity passed and did not return. We sat the three-hour paper the following morning. With the advantage of knowing the title in advance, I won. I like to think I would have won anyway, but that is not the point. I didn't set out to cheat, but it was cheating nevertheless.
What is the meaning of "that is not the point"?

    Re: meaning

    Not a teacher.

When you say that something is "not the point" you mean that something is "not relevant" to the argument or discussion.
