What is the difference between these 2 sentences?

    Hello everyone.

May I know the difference between the following 2 sentences:

"Why don't you try to hire a camera?"

    And

"Why don't you try hiring a camera?"

They're just two different ways of saying the same thing.

Re: What is the difference between these 2 sentences?

I think the sentence with the gerund implies that there are several ways of acting in the given situation, hiring a camera is one of them.

The one with the infinitive does not have that implication.

"why don't you try to hire a camera?" I reckon you don't want to hire a camera. You should do so; make an effort to do so.

    and

"why don't you try hiring a camera?" I suggest that you hire a camera, just to discover whether it is useful or not. You should try it. .
