Question for someone who eats bugs all day

Scenario: About American cartoon - The Simpsons

Bart sold his soul out. Even his family animals became unfriendly to him. When he came near his cat, the cat snarled to him.

Bart said to the cat, "Geez! You're pretty uppity for someone who eats bugs all day."

    Question:

What does "someone" refers to in this context? I cannot understand the part I hightlighted in blue. Thanks

    Someone is the cat.

Bart is cross, so he's taking it out on the cat, which snarled at him, by suggesting that the cat catches and eats insects and that therefore its opinion of him is not important.
