    Eat under a table?

    Hi, there!
In a youtube video below, actress Kate Winslet says something funny and the audience burst into laughter.

YouTube - Cameron Diaz & Kate Winslet Under A Table?

She is talking about an interview session she had with Cameron Diaz. Kate says that when she was asked about what she found surprising about Cameron, she said, "Cameron could literally eat me under a table."

I understand most of what Kate says, but too bad I don't understand this most important line.

Can anybody help me share the laghter with the audience, please?

    OP

Eat her under the table= eat an incredible lot...surprising as Cameron Dias is really slim.

    Re: Eat under a table?

I don't have time to watch the clip - there's a rather odd typo in the title: as heidita says, the expression is '...under the table'. It's usually used with the verb 'drink' - under the table makes sense in the context of competitive drinking. Kate Winslet presumably had this in mind when she was talking about competitive eating.
