    First, second, third...

    Hello there folks,

I would like to ask you something about “First, second, third” when making a speech.

First of all, is correct to say:

    “First, I will talk bout…
    Second, I would add that…
    Third…”

Secondly, just how common is it?
I have to say I can’t remember ever heard anyone expressing that way during a speech so I thought that it wasn’t that common.

Finally, where can I find other connectors like : “First of all, second of all…”

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: First, second, third...

I am rather used to saying: Firstly, secondly, thirdly. Which are there to start a sentence. Firstly, I would like to indroduce myself....

First, second, third are OK but it would be more used in these cases: the first song, the second dog, the third person who...

    Not a teacher at all.
