    how to say this...

    Good evening,

    I'd like to say "go ahead and try it this way(persuading that the opposite is better)" in a more English way.

    You could say,

    "Have you tried doing it this way?"
    or
    "You might find it better if you do it this way."
    or
    "Why don't you have a go at trying it this way?"
    or
    "I've usually found it better to do it this way."

    In general, you need to make the advice sound as non-threatening as possible so people don't resent being told.

    That's what I'd call provocation and not persuasion..
    It's rather like asking people to do something embarrassing or dangerous in order to prove their fortitude or bravery.
