convalesce :- My mother is convalescing. She is coming back from the hospital. ok, with a change. First you are ill. Then you begin to recover. After that you convalesce until you are back to normal.

inexorably :- the car kept running inexorably as its brakes had failed.

efficacious :- are these medicines efficacious for viral fever?

placate :- I tried to placate her but she wasn't ready to listen to anybody.

demeanor:- she has a friendly demeanor.

Prowling :- She was prowling around his class. She wanted to listen to his lecture secretly. Not quite right.

She prowled round the outside of the classrooms, looking for an open window because she wanted to listen to his lecture secretly.

The tiger prowls the forest, hunting for its prey.

    thanks

    Re: sentence making

This is a good way to learn new words.

    My comments:

Conglomeration- I saw the conglomeration of garbage on both the sides of the road.
    'Accumulate' would be more appropriate.
'Conglomerate' refers to a coherent mass.

Slumber - I am going to slumber.
'Slumber' is usually unplanned or unintentional.
    'Sleep' is more appropriate here.

Scour out- Scour out those gates before painting them.
    'Out' is not required.

Conglomeration- I saw the conglomeration of garbage on both the sides of the road. A conglomeration is an adhering mass; garbage tends to be strewn, that is, not conglomerated. I would say you saw the accumulation of garbage, or simply, I saw the garbage.

Slumber - I am going to slumber. I am going to sleep. I saw him in slumber. These might work, but I've never heard your use.

Scour out- Scour out those gates before painting them. Drop the out and it will be fine. Scour those gates. But actually, one scrapes paint and rust off a gate before repainting it. You scour pots and pans. Scour has to do with cleaning, but not as deeply as you would need to before painting.

word gets around- The words have already got around about his promotion. Close, but the idiom is "the word has" (singular). I know, it doesn't make sense, but that's the way it is.

Thatch- The villagers are thatching their hut roofs which was destroyed in flood. The roofs were (not was). They are thatching their hut roofs that were destroyed in [or by] the flood.
