    what is a prson called....

    What a person is called who is criminal but submit himself as a witness of prosecution and gets indemnity or amnesty by court of law?

    The formal verb for that (in the UK) is 'to turn Queen's evidence'. The informal noun for such a person is a "nark" or a "grass". A law-abiding company employee who gives evidence against their own company's illegal practices is a 'whistle-blower'.

    Similar to the UK expression, in the US we say such a person has "turned State's evidence."
