    High road

What does it really mean to 'take the high road'?

    Re: High road

    Metaphorically, a morally superior approach.

In the Scottish song, "Ye'll tak' the high road" = You will be alive and going on the main road ; "I'll tak' the low road" = I will be dead, so my soul will reach Scotland at once.
