    Red face someone passed away.....

    For common courtesy:

eg. when someone say, "How are you?"
We normally reply, "I am fine."

eg. when someone say, "I am sorry for being late.?"
We normally reply, "It's fine, don't worry."

Let's say if Mary's father has just passed away, her friend said, "Oh Mary, I am sorry for the passing of your father."

Then as a courtesy, how should Mary reply to show her appreciation for the care of her friend?

    Tks / ju

    Re: someone passed away.....

Mary would probably say something like:
    "Thank you very much."
    "Thank you, I appreciate it."
( or even a very simple but heartfelt) "Thanks."
