Can someone please help me understand this question...

"How does Fitzgerald tell the story in Chapter. 8?"

I'm not really sure what this question is asking of me. They always seem a bit vague to me. I think it's asking me to comment on the narrative but what else should I be doing to answer this question? I don't see any argument to construct.

    Any help is appreciated!

Is it in flashback?; is it in the present tense?
What point of view is it in? Whose perspective is it from?
Does he primarily use narrative, description, dialogue?
Does the author comment directly? Is it seen through one particular characters eyes?
This all comes under "narrative technique", if you want to do a search.
How does he tell the story in chapter 8?

Sorry but I still don't fully understand. I've written a page and a half of my essay but as I read over it all I'm basically doing is retelling bits of the story and then commenting on whether it's in the first person view/talking about the past etc. It's really bad at the moment.

Please could you expand and/or give me a few more pointers.

Whole books have been written on narrative technique; I can't replicate that here. But why don't you post what you've written? That will give us something to comment on.
