First person narrative VS. Dramatic reconstruction

What are the advantages of disadvantages of these two narrative techniques?

I keep going over it in my head and although it may feel more personal having someone tell you a situation, wouldn't it feel more real to actually know what was said as you'd feel like you were there?

Please help me by inputting what you feel are the advantages and disadvantages of them both. Thanks!
