    whose

    Which are correct:

1-He makes jokes whose butt I am.
2-He makes jokes whose butt is me.

3-He makes jokes the butt of which I am.
4-He makes jokes the butt of which is me.

5-The child whose guardian you are is here.
6-The child whose guiardian is you is here.

I guess one could find a way around this structure and come up with more elegant sentences, but I wanted to see how this structure works

    Re: whose

3/4 These are possible, though I'd use 'is me'.
5/6 5 is possible but 6 is really straining at the leash; it could possibly be said but people would be asking who the weirdo was who said it.

    Re: whose

1-He makes jokes whose butt I am. ok.
2-He makes jokes whose butt is me. Wrong, because you must always use the I/He form after a To Be ("is") verb. ."..whose butt is I" might be correct, but very stiffly odd.

3-He makes jokes the butt of which I am. ok.
4-He makes jokes the butt of which is me. Wrong, same as above.

5-The child whose guardian you are is here. ok.
6-The child whose guiardian is you is here. wrong, but I can't explain why. Maybe I'll be safe here and say it's wrong because you misspelled guardian and let someone else tell you why it's wrong gramatically ;)
