    which is correct?

    hi, still struggling with tenses, could you tell me which tense is ok/more natural?

    If you do it you will know it is/was a mistake.

    If you did it you would know it was/would be a mistake.

    If you had done it you would have known it was/had been/would have been a mistake.

    jlinger, thank you very very much, actually, to be honest with you, I was expecting these answers, they are in accordance with what I have recently read in 'Swan' about tense simplification, hadnt it been for that discovery I wouldnt be able to understand why the tenses function the way they do ;) thank you
