    The choice of preposition.

However, undoubtedly, the construction of large residence means fewer households in the same area of land.

    Is the sentence above acceptable?
    Which prepositon should we use?

    Re: The choice of preposition.

On & in work for me, though I'd favour the former.
    (Typo: residences)

    Thank you very much.
Does typo mean mistake in printing?
    But I was not printing.
I just use residence because the thing is what I meant, not how many of them.
Can you tell me why should we use residences here?

    Typo:
    A typographical error.

In other words, a typo is a mistake made when typing a word (by pressing on the wrong key on your keyboard).

However, undoubtedly, the construction of large residence means fewer households in the same area of land.

Well, it should be residences because you are implying more than one residence being built.

If you wanted to use residence you would need to add the article "a" before residence to make it singular.
