    I watched a little TV!

I came across this sentence when I was surfing our forum.
My questions: What is the meaning of " I watched a little TV"?

Does it mean that "I watched TV for a short time" or it mean "I watched "a little TV" "?

    Thanks so much.

    Hi Hanky,

At least in the United States, it's a very, very common expression for "I watched TV for a short time".

    I hope that helps.

    Hanky,

It usually means you watched TV for a short period of time.

If a physical dimension is intended, one might say "I watched the program on a little TV set."

    Cheers,
    Amigo

    Thanks for your answer.
I can guess the meaning of it as the same as what you said. But why don't people think that means "I watched "a little TV""?. Is "a little TV" grammatical?

Yes, it could mean that. Most people would immediately understand the context.

OK, I can see how easily an native English speaker can figure out the meaning of this kind of question from the actual context. I just didn't know how can I do it. I am not a native English speaker one and my English is extremely bad.
