    kind

I want to know where s should be place or even use it at all when the word kind is used.
And could you tell the difference in meanings?

    Re: kind

What kind of cat do you like ?
This question asks me to identify one kind only.
    I like Siamese cats.
    I like a cat who's a good mouser.

What kinds of cat do you like ?
This sentence doesn't work. It would only work if we ate catmeat.
What kinds of beef do you like?
I like flank steak and hamburger.

And even then, it would be what cuts of beef do you like.

What kind of cats do you like ?
Again, this doesn't work well, either.

What kinds of cats do you like ?
This question invites to me list all the types of cats that I like.
I like Bluepoint cats, and tabby cats, and calico cats.

The point is, then, that there should be agreement in the singular or plural sense of the question.
