    Question Proper Nouns

Would the title "master control operator" be capitalized if referring to a specific individual, but not directly by name? What about the title "speaker of the house" or "vice-president"? When are these phrases considered proper nouns?

    Re: Proper Nouns

As titles for positions, they ought to be capitalized. As general terms of reference, they would not be.
