    choose the correct word:
    To be healthy , you should eat (less-fewer) sweets.

    fewer is used with count nouns. So fewer is the answer.

    'Fewer' is the correct answer but most English people would say 'less', so it leads us to demand whether the grammarians or the speakers are right.
