    Smile usage of "while"

    "I learnt how to do it while the summer" what is the false in this sentence?

    I learnt how to do it during the summer.

    While has to introduce a clause with a verb in it: While I was watching TV, the phone rang.

    If you look at the first post from this poster, you will see that I responded by asking the poster what his or her ideas were, he or she then proceeded to post again, in my mind obviously not wanting to respond, please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that we didn't do peoples work for them on this site but helped them to correct their own responses.

    Sorry to have barged in bhaisahab. Actually, what happened was that the repeat post was higher up on the list than the original post. So I answered it before coming across the original post where you suggested he (or she) try and find the answer.himself (or herself). Anyway, have a nice day and sorry again.

    As noted, the sentence should be:
    I learned how to do it during the summer.
