    A little help please!

    Hey there,

    I was just wondering if someone could help me out with this sentance

    " It has gone by its sell by date"

    Does anyone know what the its refers to...

    I think you mean:
    It's past its "sell by" date.

    A "sell by" date is the date stamped on a food item. It is the date that the store thinks the item should be sold. Meat packages often have "sell by" dates stamped on the price tag.

    "Use by" date is the date that food can be guaranteed to be safe for consumption (eating)

    "Its" refers to whatever "it" is.
