    put away for sth

    Hi

A kid is saying: We had two china leopards standing as ornaments on the mantel and at the end of the session there was only one leopard left. And I was put away for that!

---Does it mean that he was punished, eg. he was not allowed to leave his room?

    Re: put away for sth

I suppose that he was punished in some way but 'put away' is unusual in this context. 'Put away' is used sometimes to mean 'sent to prison'.
